The app used to allow me in and suddenly, as suddenly as I was using it to upload pictures one minute and then it stopped. I now cannot access my own content on my Android or IOS device. Android wants me to log in which I have never had to do. And cannot even work out how to even set up an account. And IOS says remote access has been disabled. By who and why? Is this a firmware issue or app issue. Cannot find anything to resolve this online. And I now may lose thousands of pictures!

I've been using this for quite some time to backup photos to my WD NAS. Overall happy enough, though the backup frequently doesn't run unless you open the app itself. Frequently also stalls. The killer for me has been moving to a metered broadband package and doing what I suspected it was doing... Rather than just working over the local network and transferring the files, it uploads them into the cloud and then downloads them onto the NAS 3 feet away from you. Seriously?

Extremely useful to access your drive from anywhere. Works pretty well but if the connection is not supergood it tends to get really slow. Also when you use the app because you need some file from your drive in a hurry, it starts backing up your smartphone files at the same time and that makes accessing the file you want rather slow.

No longer functional. Since about mid-March 2021, app has become worthless. The robot Western Digital responses to one star reviews like this one all point to a web page about My Cloud OS 5 , which is useless info for those who have firmware 04.xx.xx-xxxx devices which can't be upgraded to OS 5. Basically, WD has now disabled app access for such devices.

It used to work sometimes. Since I had to reinstall Windows 10 on my laptop, none of my devices can find MyCloud on the Internet. As I use it on the home network to store all my files (none are on the laptop) only being able to access them when at home is a complete pain. The OS3 app cant find it, and no phone photos have backed up in nearly a year. So as far as I am concerned, the app is useless.

Good idea but seldom actually works. I bought this as I like the idea of being able to access content when I'm out and about. But 99% of the time when I use the app outside of the home on either a 4G connection or a different WIFI network, I get the "something went wrong error" . Often the issue can be resolved by rebooting the device, but if your 2000 miles away on holiday that's not really an option. Thankfully it's inexpensive so it's not too big a loss, and when it does actually its good.
