Of course you need to know git to use GitHub. Ignore the 1 star reviews crying about that. This is a good app except the quiz doesn't tell you which questions you missed, just your score. Bit useless if I don't know what I don't know.

Seems to assume some knowledge of git, not basic intro. Came across more like refresher than welcome to git.

Apparently, one is supposed to *already* be familiar with the basis (Git) for Github in order to understand the "intro to basics".
