This works fine for what it is. But there are a few annoying things about the experience of using it. The widget is massive. It used to be 4x1, and now seems to be 4x2. Can this be made smaller or resizeable? Also, the animation of generating the numbers means I have to wait an extra second before I can read them. There really should be no animation before displaying the generated code.

This app likes to uninstall itself which will then lock you out of your 2FA account. I have no idea what causes that. I'm running Andriod 10 on a flagship phone. There is no way to recover from losing the app or phone. There is no token backup or recovery. After having had this app disappear 3 times in 3 years, I am done with it. For accounts that require this kind of token, get a hardware key. If you have the option to use Authy or something like that, use it instead of this junk.

I appreciate that one of sites I do personal business with actually requires me to use VIP Access on the laptop as well as my mobile. I wish more of them used this app as a means of secure login. It must not require much bandwidth because I've never been unable to use it. It's sooooo much better than waiting for a text or email to be sent, with a code that expires in 5 mins., especially since I can't always get a text in our area, & email may require a stronger signal, or there's no Wi-Fi, etc.

Recently discovered that the VIP Access method has been discontinued by Norton website and is no longer a valid method of 2FA. I've been in contact with Norton online support for over 2 weeks trying to get this unlinked from my Norton account so that I can actually login and select an alternative 2FA method but keep being told that they will escalate this and call me back - Still Waiting. Can't imagine why this app is still available on Google Play when Norton's own website no longer uses it.

Lost my account and a bunch more. Money, id, technology. No big deal. Come up with better. Gone again. Problem with Microsoft accounts. PROTECTING an identity in Canada. Which one? Officially have two. And no protection, no rights. Pay bills to my old account numbers. Seems amusing here..

I downloaded this app to my phone quite a while ago. I set it up, but I really never used it because my financial institutions and the companies I purchase from were not in partnership with Symantec to use the service. I set up a new laptop in April 2020, and I setup VIP Access to login to my Norton account. Everything was fine. Today (5/28/2020) I tried to sign in to my Norton account and I get a message that VIP Access is no longer supported. The app was discontinued without a notification.

About this app

Symantec VIP Access helps protect your online accounts and transactions by using a strong authentication process when you sign in to your VIP-enabled accounts.

• Strong authentication: Provides strong, two-factor authentication when logging into your VIP-enabled accounts.
• QR/App Code: Scan a QR Code to generate site-specific security codes for strong two-factor authentication to your favorite websites.

Features
Strong Authentication

VIP Access adds strong authentication to your normal login in one of the following ways:
• Dynamically generate a one-time use security code on your mobile device. Use that code along with your username and password.
• Receive a push notification on your mobile device that you approve as authentication. If your organization requires you to define an additional device authentication mechanism to meet the security requirements, you are prompted for the additional local authentication such as PIN, pattern, password, or fingerprint.
• Enter a challenge number on your mobile device that you receive during authentication. The challenge number proves that you are physical present during authentication.
• Use fingerprint or your security code in a push notification to authenticate yourself on your mobile device.

Note: Fingerprint authentication requires that your mobile device is fingerprint capable and that you have registered a fingerprint on the device.

The strong authentication method you use depends on the method implemented by your participating organization.

You can generate a security code even if you do not have a network or mobile connection.

QR/App Codes

Scan a QR Code at participating organizations such as Google, Facebook, Amazon, and more to generate a security code every 30 seconds to securely sign in. Enter this security code along with your password to add strong authentication to your favorite websites.

Be sure to read the VIP End User Agreement after downloading VIP Access:
