They've finally found a way to infect even unlocked phones with apps that cannot be uninstalled, and worse, it locked my factory unlocked phone purchased straight from Google store. T-Mobile rep argued with me that the app was installed by Google and that it's not a T-Mobile app. You can literally go F yourself T-Mobile. Sincerely, customer since 2002 (VoiceStream).

During initial setup of device, you have to review additional apps and make sure to uncheck this app and others for them to not get installed. If you are using this for unlock purposes, you would have to use it and then Factory Reset device and uncheck during setup. Only way to completely remove.

This shouldn't be such a headache to deal with, show some competency, T-Mobile. The app doesn't appear to be working on Android 10 on my Pixel 3a XL. It simply tells me that there are server errors (which is terrible practice from a development standpoint because it clearly isn't the server). I also can't downgrade to 9 because my phone is carrier locked. I contacted support and after a month of going back and forth with them, they told me to use the app to unlock but it doesn't even work.

I have a Google Pixel 4 XL, purchased from Google unlocked, and I've never been a T-Mobile subscriber or bought a phone from them. And yet suddenly this app is on my phone and can't be uninstalled?

I ordered an unlocked pixel 3 from Google Fi. Recently, it developed screen issues and got a replacement phone, but it came with the T-mobile and this app. When you open this app, it indicates the phone is locked to T-mobile and the app will run and say the phone is now unlocked, but if you open the app again, it will say the phone is still locked, so I have no clue if the phone is actually unlocked or if due to a technicality because Google Fi runs on T-mobile that I can actually use it.

Bloatware that was installed on my Pixel without my permission. I bought it through the Google Store directly for use with Google Fi. I have never been a T-Mobile directly and their apps shouldn't be forcibly pushed to my phone.
