I've been using TeamViewer on my home pc's and smart-phones for years now and it works perfectly every time. I use TeamViewer strictly for personal remote connections and you couldn't ask for a better product. If I had a need for the commercial version of their remote software you can bet I would again select TeamViewer. It would be well worth what little cost they charge for it. This truly is a fantastic product :)

It works well enough for remote support. However, it has a constant notification bar presence, even when not actively being connected to. Instead of this, it should be possible to use the Push system to alert the app it needs to activate for connecting. Secondly, and more of a major issue, it turns off my hotspot and turns on the WiFi constantly. I have enough bandwidth to do both sides of team viewer on my mobile hotspot, and I certainly don't want to use the crap Wi-Fi near me to connect! This auto-WiFi should be an option, not forced, and so I must uninstall when not actively needing a background agent to connect to.

This version is smoother to use than the standard Host app, but this version cannot wake my Note 8.0 (N5100 with Android 4.4.2 build NK2)...without waking, remote control isn't possible (can only see device details). The standard Host app requires a single root access acceptance, but it can wake my device in order to fully access it.

My elderly parents would like to say thank you to entire Teamviewer team. You have been enabling me to help my parents by operating their laptops and phone from across the globe for doing stuff that would be otherwise hard for them to do themselves. Your daily hardwork is making the lives of many people like us easier. Its something that God will shower His blessings up on you and your family for!

So far so good. It seems stable, it's not smooth as butter, but it works well. Missing a star because of the persistent notifications (and if there really is a time limit), though I understand the reasurrance the devs have with that enabled. Good thing is 3d party apps can deal with this, and the sd-card problem isn't theirs, it's from android's security policies. A google search and root can fix that for you.
