This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing WearPIN on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.

About this app

WearPIN is an Android Wear app that adds extra protection to your Android device or tablet by changing its PIN every time you want to unlock your device. It also allows you to instantly lock your device if you've left your phone unlocked, which is very handy in case you give your phone to your friend who starts messing around with things or you accidentally forgot to lock your phone in a hurry and don't want any one else to touch or use it. (This will only work if your phone is in range of your Wear device)

Before turning on WearPIN, please make sure your lock screen security type is set to PIN, otherwise the app will not work.

How to unlock:

1. Open the WearPIN app on your Android Wear device
2. Enter the PIN shown on the screen on your Android device
3. That's it!

If you have enabled the "Send PIN to Wear" feature then the PIN will be directly sent to your Wear device and you don't have to open the app.

How to lock:

1. Open the WearPIN app on your Android device
2. Tap "Lock my device"
3. That's it

What if my watch is disconnected or away from my phone?

WearPIN includes a emergency unlock feature. In case your watch is disconnected or away from your phone, you can unlock your device using a recovery PIN. The default recovery PIN is 123456 but you are given an option to change it when you set-up WearPIN for the first time.
