About this app

Have you ever stressed out during a flight about the possibility of losing your luggage? Ever wondered whether your delivery vans are taking the scenic route to their destination? Panicked because your child’s late home from school and you don’t know where he is? Got into an argument with your neighbour who insists your dog has dug up his garden when you know it’s the Labrador across the road all the while? If any of these situations sound familiar to you, then this is where we step in.

Welcome to Snifee - this is how you track your world.

Snifee works using a simple mechanism. You take the person or object you need to keep tabs on (we call them Trackables) and tag them with a tracking device (which we call a Beacon) and then preconfigure the situations you would want be alerted on. Sounds easy doesn’t it? Well, that’s because it is. Each alert situation can be customised by you down to the finest detail. By setting up virtual geographical markers which we call Zones, you can configure the location points for your Trackable. These Zones can either be specific places like your home or your child’s school or you can define a Geo-fence - an area defined by a specific radius around a focal point. Okay, so that sounds complicated; in simple terms, say you want to be notified if your child wanders further than 100 metres from your home – you setup your home as the focal point (using a location on a map or the longitude and latitude given by a GPS) and define 100 metres as the radius – and you have a geo-fence all set up. Now all you have to do is set up your Beacon, attach a Trackable to it (in this instance, your child) and configure an Alert that warns you when your Trackable leaves that 100 metre perimeter. If you want a more specific alert, such as notifications that your delivery van has reached its destination on time, whilst keeping to the designated route, you can do that as well. It’s simply a matter of adding more Zones and time filters.

So there you have it; the power to bring order to chaos. The power to assure the safety of everyone and everything you care about.

You can configure an Android-based smart phone to act as a beacon. Before proceeding with the setup process you need to purchase a GSM connection for your phone. The phone’s GPS will help track it on your monitoring device.
