##STEPS## Get rooted phone and login to whatsapp there>>Get the "key" file at /data/data/com.whatsapp/files/key>>Go to app and "Whats Database: key file not installed"##will add link for better steps later##\n\n\n Works amazingly considering it hasn't been updated in 3 years now. For now it can only export pictures, no video, docs, voice notes. Although was planning to give 4 stars but, 3.1 is too low for this app. Hence giving it a 5 to make up for the injustice. :P

Does what it says. Give it the key and give it the database and it'll generate backups for you in whatever format you need it in. I really don't understand why this app has been rated so lowly.

what a mind blowing app. hats off to developers. I wanted to move from Android to iPhone but only constraint was taking a backup of few chats. I've spent days searching and researching for free software's and tried numerous methods. nothing worked. at last this app did my backup of 3Lac(300k) chats of 1 contact in just 5 mins and I saved them all as txt file. Really happy with the output. can't transfer from Android to iPhone but glad to have txt backup.

Initially the backup SEEMED to work: it wrote the photos to the output folder, but the HTML file with messages was empty! But after a phone reset it worked. Anyway, doesn't backup videos/audio, and sometimes skip some photos. (needs also a third party tool to extract your wa key for not rooted phones)
