About this app

My Word List is a powerful word list app with an included English offline dictionary with over 800,000 words, terms and idioms. Internet is not required to use it.

If you are learning English, or if you want to improve your vocabulary, or are studying for an exam, it helps to maintain a list of the words you are learning. As you learn more and more words, you can review them, track their learning status, add notes, and when you feel like you have mastered them, you can check them as mastered in your list. You will never lose a word again.

You can search for a word using the offline dictionary that comes with the app, using your voice, or typing it. You can add any word to your list, not just the ones in the dictionary. You can then add notes, set the progress learning status, see the dates you added the word, updated, last viewed it, or mastered it, keep track of how many times you have viewed it.

We have provided you with predefined word lists for study exams such as GRE, SAT, ACT, TOEFL, GMAT, IELTS, LSAT, MCAT, PRAXIS, TOEIC. You can add the words from those predefined lists to your own custom word list.

Besides the offline dictionary, we have also provided links to Google Definition, Google Image and Videos so you can lookup online images or videos of the word. There is a saying that says “An image is worth 1000 words!”. Also provided is a link to Google Translate online, so you can see the word translated in any language you choose in your settings.

The data is extracted from Wiktionary, and we have included pronunciation and part of speech definitions and examples, as well as a frequency number, which indicates the word’s popularity. You can also listen to the words’ pronunciation.

You can search your dictionary and word list using custom filters and sort orders. For example, you can search a word that contains certain letters, and sort them by frequency. Or you can sort them by learning status, last viewed date, modified, added dates, etc.

Besides maintaining the words in the main list, you can also create and rename your own custom word lists. And you can add a single word to multiple word lists. For example, you can have two or more different custom lists containing the same word from your main list.

You can lookup a definition from any app. Simply highlight the word in an app. It will open up a popup menu (Copy, Share …). Select the 3 dots, and then select the My Word List menu link. It will take you to the definition screen. You can then add the word to your list if you wish.

The text font size of the definition and notes is customizable, in case you need a bigger or smaller font to read.

You can see your recent word search history with dates you looked them up.

You can import your own word lists into the application. You can backup and save your data to a text file. You can import the same data later if you need.

You can export your data to a text file, including all the data you have kept for a word, notes, dates, status, lists and definitions.

You can check your stats: total, today’s, yesterday’s and monthly stats, so you can check on your progress.

We have provided a feature called Word Finder where you copy and paste articles and it will find and highlight the words in the article that belong in your list. This helps focusing on learning the words in your list. If you wish, you can then copy and paste paragraphs from the article into your notes.

Our app does not contain any ads or gives you annoying messages or notifications.

We value your feedback. Please send us any issues or features you would like us to add. You can contact us at mywordlist.help@gmail.com. We are planning to add on more features in the future, but as of right now, we believe this is the best word list app in the market. See for yourself.
