First day, I downloaded it because my WiFi was turning itself on repeatedly no matter what I did, set, change or uninstalled and drained my phones battery within an hour or two. Even when I wasn't using it. This app didn't impress me at all. At first. But it did say something about it will learn what you want from it. Been 3 or 4 days now and it seems to be learning and is quite a bit better keeping my wifi turned off. Battery lasting longer. I think this might be the ticket. Few more days and see!

As far as apps go this is one everyone needs for longer battery life throughout the day. I keep forgetting to turn off the WiFi on the phone but this makes sure I don't have to remember. No more searching for power cords because my battery is down to 15% stays around 25% at the end of my day.

It is helpful, and it does toggle the wifi. Unfortunately, though, it isn't always accurate. There are many times where I'm near my hotspot and I still have to manually turn wifi on. The options for accuracy are based up cell tower strength and barometer (if you have one in your phone). I hope the developer will consider adding an option for GPS as GPS tracking is the most accurate of all methods. Some of the competitors do this by GPS, and those are more accurate and work more efficiently.

A useful utility that keeps you in control of where and when your WiFi is active. Sometimes you'll need to manually toggle your WiFi on for more accurate map location in mapping apps, but it will automatically turn off again if you're not connected to a wireless network. The only problem I have with it, and I don't know if it's because there are hundreds of access points in its database, I have to keep manually turning off the wireless when I'm at work, even though I have it set to not auto-connect!

Tried for several months. It kinda works. Radius is limited to about 2-3 miles meaning it won't work unless you leave that radius. Sometimes it cuts my wifi off at home for no reason. I constantly have to manually turn it on. I'm uninstalling because it's easier for me to just manually activate my wifi. It does work well when your wifi spots are several miles apart, however. Nice concept but not perfect.

I really like this app. I think this is a great idea. But I think the settings are a little difficult to understand. They're not very clear. Also it doesn't seem completely stable. I think it needs better notification when it's connected, when there is no wifi in range, if there's an unfamiliar wifi signal in range, and if the user wants the app to remember or ignore it and when it disconnects from a wifi signal. But, as I said, it's a very good app and the best I've seen for this kind of tool.

About this app

Smart WiFi Toggler is an application designed to control your phone's WiFi using location based rules. Its aim is to conserve battery and minimize data charges by turning WiFi off when not connected to a network, and turning it on when a known hotspot is present. It constantly learns where your hotspots are located to make its decisions.
It's a very useful application if you frequently forget to turn WiFi off when leaving a hotspot, or if you want to automatically switch from mobile data to WiFi to conserve battery whenever you're back into a hotspot.

Here are some of cool features Smart WiFi Toggler has to offer:
- Automatically learns your WiFi hotspot locations.
- Turns WiFi off when disconnected from WiFi network.
- Automatically turns WiFi on when near a known hotspot.
- Uses your network location. No GPS battery drain.
- Provides the ability to control "auto-connect" behavior for each hotspot.
- Ability to lock WiFi to a disabled state.
- Warning notification and auto-locking WiFi when a hotspot is down.
- WiFi Hopper: Jump from a weak hot spot to a strong one.
- Toggle network mode on CM based ROMs.
- History, logging, and a troubleshooting screen in case you face any problems.

There is an extensive help section with the app, so be sure to check it out if you have any questions.

Hope you enjoy using Smart WiFi Toggler as much as I enjoyed building it!

Please note

This app requires device admin permission so it can turn off the screen when necessary. The reason is that the app may intentionally turn on the screen for a split second in order to update location information. Without this permission, the screen will stay on.

This app requires "mobile network location" access to be enabled on your device.

Persistent mode shows a notification icon. If you don't want the icon, disable persistent mode.

On some devices WiFi Sleep Policy causes incorrect behavior. Please set this to always keep WiFi on. To do that, go to Android Settings --\ WiFi --\ Advanced (menu).
