The Be a Hero, Save a Hero ® App is a free app with a goal of keeping you, your family and your local firefighters safe. Everyone plays a role in a community's safety and the public can help. The app features fire and home safety tips, resources and downloads -- plus alerts including monthly fire and home safety/prevention tip notifications, reminders to change out your smoke alarm batteries when you change your clocks, important safety alerts, weather and holiday safety updates and more. You can also take the Alarm Pledge to commit to practicing good fire safe habits like placing smoke alarms in every room and replacing them every 10 years.

Be a Hero, Save a Hero ® is the community risk reduction program of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (http://www.firehero.org). The goal of the program is to encourage the public to be pro-active in fire safety by raising awareness and increasing knowledge of smoke alarms, fire sprinklers and other general fire safety practices. By approaching community risk reduction holistically, the public can help reduce the incidence and severity of fires which in turn decreases the likelihood of death or injury to both the public and fire service personnel.
