This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing RealVNC Viewer: Remote Desktop on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. 11/21/19 review: After many weeks of use, VNC Viewer is the best remote desktop I've ever used. Plus no accusing me of commercial use (I NEVER! did) like TeamViewer always did. What a joy! Highly recommend. Today's review: After a little over a year, still love it. Can't live without it. I use it every day, many times a day. Has never let me down. The only tiny peeve that I have is when I type anything a white keyboard bar comes up and stays there blocking a section of screen.

Great app. I use it at home to maintain all the family machines whithout having to go physically on the machine. Works on Linux, Windows, Android. Have the family version and allows 5 machines. Great. All the interfaces are seamless Win to Linux, Linux to Win and Android to everything. Just got a chromecast Google TV and the viewer is not available on this device. Neither is the server. Would be great to access Google TV remotely without having to physically go to my machine.

One of my go-to apps, my favorite vnc viewer. However with the latest update it cannot be moved to external storage. This is a problem for me as it used to run fine from external storage. I'm hoping this is fixed soon.

Well, very easy to install and use. Using it mostly so I can play the game installed on my windows computer, now on my android tablet while sitting outside. But working fine! (Attach a mouse to your tablet)

Helps me to connect to my raspberry pi and remotely monitor a project I have running at home. I can also Google my ip address locally from home. Then connect to my Web site on my other raspberry pi if BT has changed my dynamic ip address. Just being able to connect remotely is ace.

RealVNC Viewer remote desktop


RealVNC® Viewer turns your phone into a remote desktop, giving you instant access to your Mac, Windows and Linux computers from anywhere in the world. You can view your computer's desktop remotely, and control its mouse and keyboard as though you were sitting down in front of it.

Just visit realvnc.com and download RealVNC Connect remote access software to each computer you want to control. Then sign in to RealVNC Viewer on your device using your RealVNC account credentials. Your remote computers automatically appear; simply tap one to screen share.

Alternatively, you can connect directly to RealVNC Connect with an Enterprise subscription or VNC-compatible software from third parties by entering the remote computer's IP address. Note that you may need to configure firewalls and port forward routers.

RealVNC Connect password-protects each remote computer out-of-the-box (you may need to enter the same user name and password you use to log in to your computer). All sessions are then encrypted end-to-end.

During a session, your device's touch screen serves as a trackpad to give you precise control of the remote desktop. Drag your finger to move the remote mouse cursor and tap anywhere to left-click (other gestures such as right-click and scroll are explained in-app).
