Now that this apparently requires root in order to work, JoyCon Droid is even LESS useful than it was before. I won't fault the devs though as this is not their fault, but it does still make this more limiting as rooting, while technically easy and useful if you can do it, there are some apps, (mostly games), that are known to block access to users with rooted devices. Since I play some of these games, this means I can't root my device or else I'll no longer be able to play those games. I wish this wasn't the case, and I'm sure many, including the devs feel the same, but without access to an alternate device I can root without worrying about games on my main device, JoyCon Droid is effectively useless to the majority who had been affected by the change inflicted by Nintendo. I'm disappointed, but I can't be mad. Still, I must be honest in my review and revise it to reflect the change; what was originally a promising 2 stars is now a disappointing 1 star, and the devs are not to blame for this.

I actually spent money in this app only to have it completely stop working and leaving me only the option of rooting my phone or just having wasted my money. I'll hold off a little longer and hopefully it will work again. If not I'll try and find out how to report an app. I have never lost functionality after paying for an app before. This is just a waste of time and money as it barely worked before.

I loved the app ...however the recent update caused some problems that make it unable to be used...with using a note8 this was the only app that worked for me...I hope that the issues can be solved quick so I can go back to using the app peacefully!

This app works great. It's sad that Nintendo made changes with Bluetooth but there is nothing the dev of this app can do about that. Luckily I know how to root my phone and I read everything in the guide so I am using amiibos with success. Excellent app, deserves a higher rating!

I love what this app can do, but I am unable to purchase the ad-free setting. There's a massive button on the home page, but it does nothing when tapped. 4 stars until I can successfully remove ads.

Barely ever worked even when it didn't require Root nor Magisk. Newer Samsung phones you have to trip Knox to even root it 100% voiding your warranty just for some stupid amiibo or joycon functionality? Sorry, it's cheaper to just buy an Amiiqo or a new pair of Joycons depending on your usage. Not to mention the extremely aggressive description now from the developer. Your app got popular from one thing and one thing only. A reddit thread advertising a way to emulate amiibo. Stay in your lane.
