Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing LockApps on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

About this app

LockApps is a new apps locking application, which offers three levels of protection. It has following advantages over other existing similar applications:

- Three levels of protections are offered to increase the usability of the system in the form of Pattern, PIN, and VAP code for low-, medium-, and high-level of security, respectively.
- Herein, VAP code is our proposed authentication scheme, which has the resilience against the three most prominent attacks on smart devices, namely i) shoulder surfing, ii) smudge, and iii) brute-force. It comprises of:
- Vibration Code (VC), where existing vibrations of the smart devices are transformed into a code;
- a modified Pattern Lock (PL) technique.

Allows applications to open network sockets.
Allows applications to access information about networks.
Allows an application to collect component usage statistics
Declaring the permission implies intention to use the API and the user of the device can grant permission through the Settings application.
