Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing QuickBeacon on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

  1. Download and install LDPlayer from https://www.ldplayer.net.

Just tested and works great on the Moto E 4G LTE (2nd gen). Looks like this phone's chipset supports BLE peripheral mode. Thanks!

It does not work on my phone - the OnePlus One. Neither does it work on the Samsung Galaxy S4. So kind of useless.

About this app

Free for a limited time only! Transmit as an iBeacon and AltBeacon with configurable identifiers. You may adjust the transmitter power and the transmitter frequency. The transmitter keeps running even when the app is in the background, making it appropriate for use in point of sale (POS) systems.

Supported devices: Nexus 6 and Nexus 9.

IMPORTANT: This app is will not work with Nexus 4, Nexus 5 or Nexus 7 or other Android 5.0 devices, because they do not support the Bluetooth Low Energy peripheral mode needed to transmit.
