It was great until it wasn't. Now that you have to have a subscription it asks you every time you use the app if you want subscribe or skip and it "has trouble communicating with the server" constantly. I have to force close the app, go through the question and then it might work. Most times I have to do that 3 or 4 times before I can turn on or off my lights. It is a pain. Why would I want to pay for something that doesn't work when it is supposed to?

Would give 0 if I could. Since they added a subscription, literally nothing works. The whole reason we paid the huge upfront cost was to not pay subscriptions, now I'm out $1000 in equipment unless I wanna pay monthly as well. Even my physical remotes have been locked and are rendered useless. So I can't even use the physical switches installed in my house unless I pay. Utter garbage. Don't buy their products. I won't anymore that's for sure.

I bought the Wink hub a few years ago and set up all of the wifi enables bulbs in my house on it. It worked so-so at best and I dealt with bulbs getting knocked off the hub all the time. Finally it seemed to get better (still very far from perfect) and I resigned myself to just dealing with it. Out of nowhere I get a notification that they're switching the system that I already paid for to a subscription service. Now it never works at all. Do not buy. Run away. Fast.

Android app was often unreliable in reporting devices' status. Duplicated most features of other smart home systems. I bought the unit based on the free service it offered. My app/device pairings have since been hijacked by Wink because I won't pay for the service. It is unusable now. I will now look for ways to hack the device.

App used to be good, not flawless for nearly 3 years. Before the new fee structure came out, wink was constantly losing connection and needed to be reset every 2-3 weeks. Recently, the device lost connection with all devices and robots no longer work. I can't even unpair devices to pair them, hoping this will at least fix the connection issue. I finally unplugged the wink hub and bought a competitor device. Hope wink can get their act together, cause I lost patience with the app and hub.

Wish I can go back in time. Bought this in 2016 for my ceiling lights. Lights are on yellow light by default and I wanted white light. I use wink hub to change, but over time the lights would revert back to yellow. I recently changed internet providers and now i can't use the hub anymore as it doesn't recognize the internet and i can't add it to the wink app anymore.. and the wink app doesn't even open, it says i am not connected to the internet when i am. Now i have to pay $100 for a new hub.
