About this app

The Landlords Interim Electrical Visual Inspection Checklist solves the issue of proving the electrical installation is maintained and kept in a safe working order. BS 7671 IET Wiring Regulations recommend an interim electrical visual inspection is carried out at least every 12 months for ALL rental properties.

The interim electrical checklist details what to look for during the visual only electrical inspection, split into sections, once the task is completed you can select the item as passed (✓), failed (X) or N/A if not applicable.

At the end of the inspection you can save, print or email a PDF report of the routine check for your records.

Interim Electrical Inspections
- Easy to use checklist
- Save and print PDF copies
- Sign and date reports
- Add your own comments

The electrical checklist is split in to easy to navigate sections:
1) Property Details
2) Paperwork
3) Consumer Unit
4) Sockets and Switches
5) Lights
6) Smoke, Heat and Carbon Monoxide Alarms
7) General
8) Additional Comments

With the new forthcoming mandatory 5 yearly electrical installation condition report being introduced for private rental properties is it more important than ever to keep records of these checks for future reference should anything go wrong.

To ensure an electrical installation is continually maintained and kept in a safe working order for continued use a 5 yearly Electrical Installation Condition Report should be carried out at least every 5 years by a suitably skilled electrician, in addition to this an Interim Electrical Visual Inspection should be carried out at least every 12 months and at change of tenant.

In addition to having a 5 yearly Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) carried out, an Interim Visual Electrical Inspection should be carried out at least every 12 months and at change of tenancy.

Frequency of Electrical Inspections:

  • Full Electrical Installation Condition Report = Max 5 yearly

  • Landlords Interim Electrical Visual Inspection (routine check) = Maximum every 12 months and at change of tenancy.
