This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Live Mockup Pro on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

  1. Download and install LDPlayer from https://www.ldplayer.net.
  2. Drag the APK/XAPK file directly into LDPlayer.

...Indispensable si on veut faire une maquette on the go. Seul inconvenient, la taille des images que l'on peut importer est limitée.

I had some fairly minor UI problems enumerated in my original review and had also written the developer with these concerns. In that review, I rated the app at 4 stars too because it is still very useful, but I heard back from the developer almost immediately. Apparently, there have not been any updates lately (which was one of my concerns) because it's getting an overhaul. I'm cool with that! I can't wait to see what's being done. In the meantime, the app is indeed useful as is, so I've revised my review to reflect my new not-so-negative attitude towards its future (my anxiety is gone). We'll see.... EDITED: I was apparently wrong and wasted my money. After waiting a year and and half with no update, it appears this project has been abandoned! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. Run for the hills!

About this app

Live Mockup Pro is a tool for creating mockups of Android applications. You can create mockups on any Android tablet that runs on Android version 4.0 or greater. The mockups use native Android controls, so your mockup looks just like a real Android application.

The mockups can be created for any of the official Nexus devices, such as Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus or tablets such as Nexus 7 or Nexus 10. These devices are used as reference devices to test the mockups.

NOTE: Only tablets with minimum resolution of 1280x800 pixels are supported.

You can create unlimited number of screens (Activities) in the mockup and can link them through buttons. Once you finish designing, you can run the mockup and see how it looks & behaves in real Android environment.

Live Mockup provides following native controls for your mockups - button, edit text, text view, number picker, radio button, check box, switch, toggle, spinner, list view and a host of other controls. More will be added in future.

You can control and change some of the attributes of the controls, such as text, text size, position, color, icons, etc. For positioning on the screen, the snap-to-grid helps you to perfectly lay out or align your controls with respect to other controls.

PERMISSIONS - The app requires the following permissions to run:

* android:name="android.permission.INTERNET"

This permission is required by the WebView control to display web content from the screen.


* android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE"

Required to export your project files on external storage such as sd card.


* android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE"

Required to read & import existing project files from external storage.
