By far the BEST program out there! I've been using this since Palm III! Can't recommend it enough! You have no idea what calendar software can do until you have this. How Google or Microsoft hasn't snapped this up is beyond me. Do yourself a favor & get on-board...

Have used the app for years and always loved the functionality and customization features. Recently had a phone crash and had to reinstall on an android. Now it closes itself every 30 seconds. Aggravating.

I used Palm devices from 1997-2003 and they basically shaped the way that I think about managing daily life. Anyway, I wanted to find a calendar that allows the user to set repeat frequency, synchronize between devices, etc..., so I bought this as soon I found it since it gives the user so much more control over parameters. After spending several hours making extensive notes to start the learning curve, my first entry disappeared several times. Since the entry disappeared so easily, I felt that it basically defeated the purpose of trying to use this calendar. I was ready to ask for a refund on day 2, but decided not to since the purchase supports a gorilla sanctuary. Anyway, tech support sent me an extremely detailed and well thought out personal reply with multiple approaches for the issue. The bottom line: It is a mental challenge to learn how to use this calendar requiring attention to details, complex thinking skills and investment of time. 3 days after purchase, I still don’t know if this will be the calendar that I will end up using.

I finally found a calendar to suit my needs and has the option to synchronize between my laptop and phone without Google or any other intrusive entity! It works with Google if you are the trusting sort. The program is simple enough to get started, but has depth to satisfy the most complex schedules. I had some questions for technical support and the response was prompt and accurate. Well done!

Galaxy S10e. No sound for events following first alarm in a day after Android 10 update.

I was hoping this would be closer to the palms & handspring & also palm phones I used to use. Those were simple or complicated depending on your need, &, pretty intuitive. Looks like palm, love week view, but just too much work for me. I'm disappointed but my expectations. Simpler more like the palm option be nice. After this last time of opening the calendar and all my settings, appts, reminders were gone again, I'm sorry to say I'm done and uninstalling.

About this app

Pimlical is an advanced successor to the very popular Palm Calendar application, DateBk, used by millions of Palm and Handspring users that now runs on Android Devices. Manages Events, Tasks, Memos and Contacts.

There is a matching desktop PIM application for Windows-based PC's and data can be synced back and forth with Pimlico's DirectSync, as well as through Google Calendar see Pimlico Website at www.PimlicoSoftware.com.

In addition to providing all the conventional calendar functionality, Pimlical has a wealth of features for the power user not present in any other calendar application on any platform. If you are looking for a "cute" and "pretty" calendar, you should look elsewhere, as this program is designed for users who need not only vastly more functionality in a calendar application, but also far more preference settings so it can be truly customized for their use. The relatively few negative reviews of this application are typically posted by users who were just looking for something that was pretty rather than super-functional (and of course it takes some study to even begin to learn all the things that it can do).

* An active forum on Yahoo Groups populated with other Power Users interested in advancing the functionality of this application.

Pimlical/Android is definitely a PIM for power users and not for the occasional-use novice. The focus of the application is directed towards efficiency and functionality, and for the author, CESD, this is a continual work-in-progress as new functionality is added on a regular basis.

If you encounter issues on installing Pimlical/Android, first check out the FAQ’s on the TechSupport tab of www.pimlicosoftware.com or go to the support forum at: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Pimlical

Best of all, all the profits go to the benefit of Wildlife Conservation, as CESD also manages the only private AZA-certified facility in the world for Gorillas (yes, gorillas! – see www.dewarwildlife.org).

New features

* ScheduleIn Action tag with no value now pops up Dialog to enter future duration for Reminder Alarm.
* Adds custom notification sounds for Android-10+ snooze/Float-Task/Custom Items, and sets them from a Pimlical Preference (no more fiddling with "CHANNELS").
* Now displays Edit button & selection List for snooze/Dismiss buttons in Android-10+ notifications.
* Fixes several obscure issues with Notification Alarms in Android-10+.
