garbage. Freezes only identifies more commonly known correctly. The worst part is, you decide to try the free 7 day trial then realize its trash. Good luck canceling your subscription. I am still trying to figure out how to cancel. Deleting the app? When you do, it pops up a message stating that Deleting the app doesn't end the subscription. Emailing them because you've searched the app, their website, and Google play? Still waiting for a reply 4 days later. Maybe after 7 days they'll reply...

Everytime you edit a saved sample, all pictures get deleted. I love how it cleans the background of a new picture automatically, but it doesn't do so when selecting from the gallery and adding more pictures just removes the previous ones. If you cancel adding pictures, existing ones still get deleted so you can't save changes. Entering an acquisition date in the past is also nearly impossible. You can't select an older year without immediately closing the choice on the current day and month.

App works great for well-known or generic specimens as well as logging your finds. However, it fails to identify the samples that are not so common 80% of the time. Honestly, Google Lens does a better job of identifying samples, and it is FREE. To call the app "Rock Identifier," this is rather misleading. I forgot to cancel before the end of the free trial. Now I just use it to log my finds that I have to identify using other resources. Do not waste your money on the paid version.

Identifies about ½ the samples submitted (only 4 so far). ____BUG: Adding photos under the editing options doesn't add the photos to the original photo(s), but replaces what was already there. It also doesn't add the photos in the order chosen. Quite annoying at times (especially when they replace the original photo submitted & identified). I'd consider buying unlimited IDs were it not for that major flaw.

I have really enjoyed and appreciated using this app. I am a newbie to the rock hounding hobby and super curious about the geology of my area. My experience is with the free version, and although free, it hasn't felt like it. The Rock Identifier app has been impressively accurate with its identifications. I have tested it multiple times with rocks I had already positively known with 100% accuracy. The rocks I haven't known? So far, this app hasn't shaken my trust. Great app! Thank you!!

I had this app for a while and thought it was cool until I started taking pictures of random things such as fabrics with prints and it would name them. I just don't understand how a phone can accurately identify rocks without the proper lighting or information on rock specifics such as hardness ect. Great idea though I hope you continue making it better because it could be very useful. Cheers
