Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Octopus on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.

Mobile app cannot read the octopus card (which can before) after it was upgraded. How come your company can let this happen!! Would you please refix this bud as quickly as you can.

Update on previous 1 star review, after update smart octopus stopped working, followed response from the app guys, had to back up, delete and restore app, seems to be working fine again, thanks

Excellent app. It Has FPS function. It can check Octopus card balance. It can top up Octopus from app. The upgrading to wallet pro using smart authentication is faulty

After the latest update I cannot use my Samsung S20+ (Android 11) to pay by the installed octopus card. This is Totally unacceptable. Why dont you fully test it out before launching to the users !! Furthermore the new interface is not user friendly and difficult to find the required function. Totally Rubblish !!! I have not tried the Samsung pay using my credit card, I have the feeling that it might not work. ****The same thing happened again in May 2021 after updated to ver 9.5.0. !!***

This app used to be super useful for topping up family members' octopus cards with my own smart octopus account. Since a recent update, it seems to require cash or a bank account linkage, so it is now useless. It keeps stating that I have insufficient funds when I try to pay out to another octopus card, after I have just transferred in funds. It's also full of direct marketing prompts. No idea why they ruined a perfectly good app.

Verification for banks doesn't work. Keeps accepting my id and portrait photos then when I get to the end of the process, says that my id photos are no good. Repeat a dozen times. Fail. Gave up. Went and downloaded Alipay. Worked first time. Bye bye Octopus forever.
