The app is very handy, however it frequently crashes on my Galaxy S8. Happy to assist with tracking down the problem and would be very happy to revise my review to give 4 stars if the issue can be fixed. A 5 star review would need some work on the 'Dash' view - it is next to impossible to get gauges the same size (there is no snapping), resizing in general is odd (uses 'pinch' instead of handles for the corners), changing the display resolution changes the size of the gauges (they don't scale), and there are some values that would be better suited to a gauge or bar graph but there doesn't seem to be a way to change from the pre-set type.

The Dash customization approach is very frustrating from a design/UX perspective, but otherwise, this is an extremely valuable app. A 'nice to have' would be if the gauge overlays on video actually saved onto the recording (similar to GoPro).

Dissappinted with the app. Tried two different obd bluetooth readers and it continuously keeps connecting and disconnecting and the status at the bottom will say :Ini Failed. While using a usb cable I kept getting a device name not set notification. After emailing the developers they responded within 5 minutes and helped me troubleshoot my issue. I had enabled the auto connect feature before connecting manually for the first time. This resolved my device name not set issue.

Honestly a great app to view your cars goings on. HOWEVER I would like to say, the dash settings button is not working therefore I cannot change the dash to suit what I wish it to be showing. As long as this can be resolved I'm very happy with the app

About this app

The NDSI provides basic diagnostics for N i s s a n and I n f i n i t i cars. It is intended for older cars that have a grey 14-pin Consult I connector. Those are usually cars build between years 1989 and 2000. The connector is typically located near the fuse box. For a list of supported vehicles please visit our website.

This application supports both, petrol and diesel cars. It communicates with the engine ECU using Consult II protocol. It uses the same communication protocol as the dealer diagnostic tool. This protocol is far more comprehensive than the generic OBDII or ISO9141 protocol.

The video recorder function saves an mp4 video file with accompanying data log file. An Overlay software such as RaceRender can then be used to generate videos with custom data visualization.

A Bluetooth or USB diagnostic adapter is required to connect to the car. Those can be purchased from eBay, Internet stores or hobbyists.

Visit our website for a list of tested and recommended adapters.

USB adapters based on FTDI or CH340 chips are supported. Your Android device has to be capable of USB Host functionality. You will also need a USB OTG (On-The-Go) cable to connect the USB adapter to your device.

If you would like to test the application for compatibility with your car, try the free Lite version also available from Google Play store.
