I only use it to block ads in one mobile game and well, it works. Lost 2 stars because it is CONSTANTLY freezing and crashing, and the exception rules don't work. It blocks both mobile data and wifi whether I want it or not, and cuts the connection for ALL apps whether I've ticked them on or off. The freezing and crashing has been going on way too long, really needs to be fixed. It freezes nearly every time I use it, maybe 9/10 times. And crashes at least once a week.

I really like this app when it comes to closing doors on apps. That way other apps won't run unless opened, but I stuck with the one for android 4. At least the one I managed to mod. The thing about the newer version is that it asks for accessibility permissions and it seem to work for itself from there. I just don't trust updated apps as much as the old school apps from android 4. @MO5TKNOWN

I have been using this fine firewall for a week now, on my Android device and I have it set to start up along with the device. It is a truly great no root firewall, and I highly recommend this

The only reason I am downloading this is to throttle my device's bandwidth to not reach ISPs to throttle limit so my connections and web requests don't keep dropping. If they could make that limiter it's own app, like netlimiter for windows desktops, I would definitely purchase. That way I can assign each mobile app the bandwidth it's allowed to use. Just a suggestion. Regards, JT

Works good for blocking what I want, but also blocks other apps even if I don't tell it to. Causes more trouble than it is worth.

***FAQS***

Why does Mobiwol No Root Firewall show as if using a VPN connection?

This is superficial. We've used technology available to us from within the VPN packaging module offered by Android to be able to gain visibility to your applications' network activities and apply firewall rules without having to ask for root permissions like other Android Firewall apps. However, no actual VPN connection is being made, no data is being sent externally by our application, and we do not tamper with the security of your personal data, so you can continue using your apps with peace of mind, and confidence that you will not end up with a higher than usual data bill at the end of the month.

----------------------

Why Can't I accept the VPN Prompt?

You will need to select the checkbox first and then the button becomes enabled. If you are having problems selecting the checkbox, it is likely that you have another app that creates an overlay on the active screen that is preventing you from selecting the checkbox.

These two threads explain the problem further and give some examples of apps that do this-

----------------------

Why does Mobiwol top the data usage chart?

It’s an illusion. Mobiwol uses your device’s VPN package to create a firewall. As every data packet sent or received by your apps passes through the VPN, all the incoming and outgoing data traffic gets attributed to Mobiwol.

The good part, however, is that Mobiwol now comes with its own Data Usage feature which allows you to check data usage for each app. To view the usage, choose Data Usage from the home screen.
