Wow. In less than a year I have already replaced this router. The app might be the worst I have ever used. None of the features work or can be controlled from the app. The router crashes and reboots constantly. You have no way to get support for the product from netgear after your "time expires" What does that tell you about a company that doesn't stand behind what they sell. Take it back to the store and purchase a different router. This one is JUNK! AND REMEMBER "ZERO SUPPORT FROM NETGEAR. "

App used to be good - you can't do alot with it as far as configuration, but at least you could could see some useful information. Now, you can't even log into it as the connection to the Netgear site ALWAYS times out and you can't get in making this app unusable at all. I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times on multiple devices with the same outcome. I think I'm done with Netgear as they can't get a simple app to work. What more, a router!

Buggy as hell. So many connection issues. Takes way too long to connect. Says my router is offline when it definitely isn't. Netgear really needs to make improvements on this app! Update 6/18/21: The app has only gotten worse! It won't even open and function properly. Keeps crashing, especially when I try to switch views to my Nighthawk extender. I can't do anything with it! Pretty much complete junk! Very disappointed in this app!

Really horrible app. Doesn't even work. I sign in and I automatically get a timed out notice, asking me to log in again. I get a bunch of notifications but I can't even view them because the app won't load. They turned a functional app into a display piece over the years. Complete waste of time and space. Don't bother downloading.

This router worked great with frontier fios. Then there was an update, now, anything you want to do, including turning off internet between say, 10pm and 7am, to keep kids off of it, you have to subscribe to premium monthly service built into the router after the update. I have an old Dlink router I could do that to individual devices on the network for FREE. If you haven't update the router don't do it. Total B.S. trying to make us pay for something that was free before update.

Just installed. The controls are very limited, and the reviews I'm reading indicate that it and the Nighthawk router only get worse with time. I wish I'd seen this and bought the Arris Surfboard router instead. The router had better retain peak performance for at least 2 years. Also, Netgear requires customer to be within warranty period, which is 90 days from connecting, unless they pay $30 for a 2 year extended warranty. The genie interface also has only a few settings which can be changed.
