Amazingly works well. The idea is excellent. But no widgets. [+][-] button widgets, [current brightness level][+][-],etc... these widgets needed. Plus please add functions in notification bar. But it is great app!

Very nicely done! Looking forward to future versions. I use this in conjunction with the built in blue filter (S8). The brightness control wasn't working very well, but this app changed that. Thank you for an well done app!

Yes thank you!!! Small, simple, fast, direct, no ad, as promised. Just a simple app but this is what a brightness app supposes to be.

About this app

For a long time I was looking for a brightness control application which:
- can quickly set brightness to auto or maximum,
- has large buttons (so you would not have to search for some small check box when you want to turn on auto brightness),
- but most importantly - can make the screen X times brighter, not Y percent brighter (or less bright).

Here is what I mean.

Many existing brightness control apps use steps to change brightness - for example 0%-10%-20%-30% etc. A drawback of such an approach is that when brightness changes from 10% to 20%, the screen becomes 2 times brighter; from 20 to 30 - 1.5 brighter, from 50 to 60 - 1.2 times brighter, and the difference between 90% and 100% can even be difficult to see.

What I wanted was an app which does not add or subtract values when it changes brightness, but multiplies or divides. For example 5%-10%-20%-40% etc (two times brighter each time).

So in the end, when I could not find such an application, I decided to write one myself.

This application used predefined brightness factors, and every touch of the -/+ buttons makes the screen 1.25, 1.4 or 2 times more (or less) bright. I hope that you will find this approach sensible and convenient.

In addition to the -/+ buttons the app provides the slider which makes it possible to set brightness to ANY value - if for any reason you do not want to use the prefefined values.
There are also Auto and Max buttons for situations when you quickly need to switch to the auto mode or set brightness to the maximum possible value (for example, when you are outside).

And finally - the application is free and does not have any ads.

It needs permission to write system settings only to change brightness.

New features

- removed the factors 1.4 and 1.5 which were very similar, replaced them both with the factor 1.42
Based on users feedback
- disabled automatic darkening of the background by Android for the main screen
- added additional brightness values between 0 and 2 for every factor
- some UI improvements
