Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Sensor Monitor on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.

About this app

Sensor Monitor is a tool that lets you monitor all sensors in your smartphone. You can optionally record all sensors values in CSV (Comma Separated Value) format by clicking the RECORD button. Recording frequency is now fixed at 1 second (will be changeable in the next version). Data files are stored in /storage/sdcard0/SensorMonitor/ directory of the smartphone and named as yyyymmdd-hhMMss.csv, where yyyymmdd-hhMMss indicates the point in time when user pressing the RECORD button:

yyyy: 4-digit year
mm: 2-digit month (01-12)
dd: 2-digit day (01-31)
hh: 2-digit hour (00-23)
MM: 2-digit minute (00-59)
ss: 2-digit second (00-59)

Currently Sensor Monitor supports the following information and sensors:
- Device model, manufacturer, brand and OS version
- Battery status
- Environment sensors: temperature, relative humidity, light, sound, pressure, proximity
- Motion sensors: magnetic field, acceleration, linear acceleration, gravity, gyroscope and rotation vector. Values of motion sensors are monitored in device coordinate and earth coordinate. Rotation vector values is in quarternion format.
