Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Beacon and NFC Skype Caller on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.

About this app

Skype caller which is triggered by proximity to NFC tags or Beacons.

Skype contacts can be paired with either an NFC Tag or a Beacon. Each contact can then be associated an action to be triggered when in proximity with its trigger device:
- Video Call
- Call
- Chat
- User's choice each time.

Two different scanning modes can be enabled: NFC and Beacon. There is also a slider bar for setting the sensitivity of iBeacon detection.

On detection of a device, the application will automatically execute the stored action by starting the Skype application.

Requirements:
In addition, devices need to support Bluetooth LE scanning (Android 4.3 +) and NFC tags.

This application needs a Skype software installation to function. If one is not found, it will prompt the user to go to the Store and download it.*
