About this app

Perfect for astronomers, night sky enthusiast, hobbyists, or just the interested and inquisitive. Includes indicators to aid polar alignment, track night sky features and tell the time. A red display option helps preserve night vision.

Installation:
Open play store on the watch and search for "Astronomical Clock".

Information includes:
- Polaris or Sigma Octantis indicator (polar scope clock ring).
- Radial date marker (Date hand).
- Northern and Southern polar constellations and DSO.
- Planet transition times.
- Moon phase.
- Dual level indicators (select from, Battery, various sensor data, and steps).
- Julian Date, Local sidereal time and GPS location.

Double tap the lock feature to enable mode changes. Tapping the centre switches the display between Northern, Southern hemisphere, and general information. Taping the outer ring switches between normal, sleep and night vision modes. Northern or Southern hemisphere auto select and change order depending on GPS location.

Quick polar alignment using the outer clock ring that shows the current pole star location as seen through a polar scope. This polar time or hour angle can be read from the digital display in the information screen.

A 24-hour clock ring highlights transit time of the planets and polar constellations. The objects are in transit when they are aligned with or centred in the yellow box indicator. The box highlights the south direction for the Northern hemisphere and the northern direction for the Southern hemisphere. The yellow box defaults to the bottom of the display to indicate the viewing direction and place the night sky overhead. Tapping the marker toggles it to the top to re-orientate the night sky view when observing the pole star.

A date marker (hand) provides a quick indication of progress through the year. (Language option for month names)

Auto brightness and florescent sleep mode options improve battery life and dim the display, so the watch face doesn’t disturb your sleep. The watch face also maximizes it’s intensity in bright daylight (active mode only). (If the watch has a light sensor)

Configuration options to adjust brightness, enable features and select sensors to display. (The heart rate sensor is an option but this can reduce battery life if selected).

(Not suitible for watches with a chin)

New features

- Fixed location not always updating
- Updated to the latest android APIs
- Changed default location to current time zone
- Fixed southern hemisphere constellations not being the default for locations in the southern hemisphere
