Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Find My Movie on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.

About this app

Find My Movie: Are you struggling to keep track of what movies you own? and more importantly where? Purchased a movie on a streaming service only to realise you already had a copy on DVD? then this is the application for you.
Uses the OMDB API to download plot, actors, writers, directors and poster art along with the IMDB rating.
Select "Add a new movie to database", enter the Movie title (you can narrow down the search by year. e.g. Star Wars and 1977 will find "A New Hope". You will then be provided with a list of possibilities, click on the correct entry. The app will download all of the movie data and all you need to do is confirm what format you own the copy of the film and then save to the database.
Once you have entered all of your films you can, leave everything at default to list all of your films or you can narrow down the selection by Actor, Writer, Director, Genre, film location or IMDB Rating.
You can back up your database to "External Storage" depending on the device this can either be on the root of your internal storage or the root of your SD card.

Movie posters are stored as URLs in the database and are downloaded from the internet during operation, no copyrighted material is included in the application or stored on your device.
