Ive been using this app for some years now , it used to be great it never caused me any problems, but when I changed my phone it was impossible to export / import my passwords. It would also fail to load because of some server error even when I had not configured any server backup, finally the thing that makes me unable to recommend it is the fact the app got corrupted and forced me to reset it. Effectively I lost all my passwords...

I hit the wall of the issue that prevents import/export from and to clipboard. I didn't have to bother with any of this prior to version 3. Now that they upgraded the version one is responsible to transfer the data oneself. But Android can't handle that! I see several mentions of that among the reviews. I lost faith n trust in these folks. Customer support is a bad joke. I cannot recommend the app nor the people behind it. Thus, I have cancelled my account despite being paid through 2020.

great, as this app is REALLY free and does what it says on the tin. You do not need to create an online account if you are rather reluctant -like myself- of having any sensitive information stored out there. But this can be an option if you like to sync your password on all your devices. Well done open source community!

Both the Android and Windows desktop apps have the look and feel of an iOS app. That's great, if you like the look and feel of iOS. I imagine that Padlock works just fine as a password manager, but there are dozens of options out there, and some of them adhere to Material Design standards. I'll stick to the apps that feel like they were designed by a team that loves the Android ecosystem as much as I do.

Cannot import an encrypted padlock export file!! I tested this by creating a few entries in padlock, then exporting them to the clipboard as an encrypted padlock export file, then deleting the entries from padlock, then importing the padlock file from the clipboard. The app said the import was successful, but no entries are there! Incredibly frustrating as this is otherwise a perfect app and I would have given it 5 stars. Really disappointing.

Works well for desktop version. Import is broken for Android version - does not support import from a file and also, nothing happens when you try to import from clipboard.

About this app

Securely store all your sensitive information like web accounts or credit card numbers in this incredibly simple app! Padlock is a minimalist open source password manager that puts usability and security first. No clutter, no distractions!

\\\ Why should I use a password manager? ///

Passwords are everywhere. We need them to access our computers, our email accounts and many other services that we rely on. Unfortunately, good passwords are hard to remember and in the digital age we live in it has become practically impossible to keep track of all the user names and passwords we use each day. Most people try to mitigate this by composing their passwords out of familiar things like names or birthdays, but these can be guessed easily and do not provide sufficient protection. Password reuse, which is also wide-spread, is even more dangerous and makes a lot of people easy targets for hackers. Padlock helps you keep track of all your sensitive information by storing it in a secure, encrypted vault that is protected by a single master password.

\\\ What makes Padlock special? ///

We believe that software should not only be useful but also simple and fun to use. Padlock is all about simplicity and usability. We deliberately say no to unnecessary features that make other password managers more complex and confusing than they need to be. Padlock focuses only on the most essential functionality. No clutter, no distractions!

\\\ Why should I trust you? ///

You don't have to! Padlock is completely open source and we actively encourage developers to inspect the source code and offer contributions. This not only makes it impossible for us to build in "back doors" but also helps to identify and eliminate possible security flaws quickly and efficiently. On top of that, we work with professional security auditors to make sure Padlock continues to meet our high security standards.

\\\ Is Padlock also available on other platforms? ///

Why, yes! Padlock is available on iOS, Android, MacOS, Windows and Linux and our secure cloud storage service Padlock Cloud allows you to quickly and easily synchronize your data between all your devices!
