Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Agave on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

  1. Download and install LDPlayer from https://www.ldplayer.net.
  2. Drag the APK/XAPK file directly into LDPlayer.

Seems buggy. I have to restart my phone from time to time for the app to communicate with the Isy. Also, the status of the sensors change for no reason. Having issues that I did not have with the Insteon app. However, to be fair the problem might be related to the Isy? Previously, I was using the Insteon hub.

Overall, Agave has worked fairly well, but not 100%. Sometimes the controller doesn't work when X10 remotes do work.

In my opinion, this is excellent. I recently upgraded phones and when Mobilinc didn't move to the new phone, I decided to give Agave a try. Glad I did. I also added it to my wife's phone for ISY access. She sees it's an upgrade from what we had. The UI is well thought out. From a support perspective, I submitted one ask and got a reply in less than 30 minutes. I realized the issue was mine, soon after I sent it, but got a reply and all is great.

The lighting in my home is mostly all Insteon devices and the devices work well as a standalone and with my ISY but I was never happy with the options to control it all from my phone until I discovered this app. Is it perfect? No. But the developer is responsive to fixing bugs and issues as they arise and that is huge. Good purchase and would do it again. Would love to see a new GUI and more options to add graphics to each switch. Would be nice to see more devices on the screen at once too.

Like the non-subscription licence. Works well with ISY controller. Software seems stable. Although current display interface is okay, a single line per device alternative would be nice. Been using for nearly a year and prefer Agave to MobiLinc (which I used for a few years). Would be nice if sharing with family members and their devices was less complicated (like MobiLinc) but the current structure is a small price to pay. Overall, great app for controlling home automation while at home or across the country.

this app functions very well so functionally I have no complaints however, the user interface is reminiscing of a very old style app and the manufacturer seems to care very little about the interface. it is evident because the icons are extremely Limited, there is no way to import pictures which is almost mandatory in today's more modern apps and there is no way to customize anything on the interface. I am hoping that will change soon

Agave - ISY app for mobile home automation of Insteon® and Z-Wave® devices.

Agave Home Automation allows for seamless, secure and customizable remote access to your Universal Devices ISY Controller from your Android® smartphone and tablet.

Many Insteon® and Z-Wave® devices can be controlled through ISY using Agave. If you find one that isn’t supported, contact the developer (we’ll need a node dump of the device from an ISY).

Agave can control your Elk® M1 Home Security system through your ISY. Arm and disarm in all Elk modes including status of and control of bypass of all of your Elk zones.

You can use all features of Agave without any limitations free for 30 days. After trial, there are no additional downloads required; simply purchase the features that you would like to continue to use. Trials are tracked using your ISY UUID and initial run date.

Agave is actively developed. This means new devices are added quickly (please contact the developer in the event you have an unrecognized device) and features are added regularly. We discuss new features on the UDI Forum > Agave subforum.

Agave is secure. Your ISY credentials are encrypted on your device and you can optionally configure a PIN (per Agave profile) so that anyone using your mobile device won’t have access to use Agave. Connections to your ISY can be encrypted using SSL.

Agave is customizable. You can easily add favorite devices to a compact home screen view. Want more than one home screen? You can add additional profiles to enable more home screens. Have more than one ISY? You can configure connections to more than one ISY. Don’t know what the cryptic device names are on your ISY? Device names, control/action buttons, and device status can be customized.

Agave works with your favorite Insteon devices (requires an Insteon-compatible ISY). Whether you want to control an Insteon Thermostat, LED light bulb, On/Off Switch Relay, Dimmer switch, IO Linc Sensor/Relay, Triggerlinc Open/Close sensor, Motion sensor (2420 verified), smoke sensor, or an EZFlora/lawn sprinkler, Agave works for you. As new Insteon devices are released, we work to add them quickly to Agave.

Agave works with most Z-Wave devices (requires a Z-Wave compatible ISY). Door locks(Schlage, Kwikset and Yale verified) , thermostats, on/off and dimmable switches, MIMOLite sensors, and Aeon Multisensors can be controlled through Agave. If you have a Z-Wave device that isn’t already added to Agave, we’ll work with you to get it added quickly (please contact the developer!).


Connectivity
Agave can connect to your ISY using any combination of the following methods in the order you define:
1. Direct Connection via private home network (local) connection (usually the “primary” connection)
2. Direct Connection via external network/cellular data connection (may require port forwarding on router) (often the “secondary” connection)
3. UDI Portal (Requires subscription through UDI)
