The maps are too out of date to be very useful. Also it no longer opens the Moovit app which is already installed on my phone. I like the idea of it though. Update 19.6.21: Thank you. The 'Moovit' app now opens again.

Well done, a very good application for blind users. This application and Google Maps are enough for blind users to be independent on the Streets.

So far I am very happy with this app. I am visually impaired and I use this app and more more it amazes me of how accurate it is. I like the ability to even correct some of the directions in the system and I was pleasantly surprised that they are doing better with locations of things inside airports.

I am sightless, and love this app. I have tried most on playstore, most are useless. Thank you for taking the time to develop it. Can i help improve it as a totally blind user. I am 63, lost my sight 2 years ago. Local o&m specialists are terrible, i live independent now with this app.

I would love to use Lazarillo again ! Being blind, I know the value of a good quality navigation app. However, it goes to a notice to change the voice; but no way is provided to do this, and I have to restart my phone just to get off of the noticed page. I gave 3 stars for this purpose, it worked great for years; but now it doesn't seem to. If a way is provided to get around this voice notice, I'll go to 5 stars; because I'll be able to use the app again, until then ? ? ?

About this app

The Lazarillo App is the accessible GPS for people who are blind or have low vision! It allows you to explore the world around you and create routes with audio guidance.

With a wide range of customizability options and a diverse array of mobility tools developed using active feedback from people who are blind, Lazarillo is the solution for anyone looking to navigate accessibly.

As you move, Lazarillo will tell you about nearby places, such as the street that you are walking on, nearby intersections, businesses nearby, transit stops, and more! You can even toggle announcements of specific locations on and off in the exploration menu.

Need to route to a specific location? No problem. With Lazarillo, you can browse through nearby locations or search for a specific location and receive turn by turn guidance to your destination. You can even save your favorite locations to access them easily any time.

If buildings or other indoor locations have been mapped by Lazarillo, you'll be able to explore their interiors with audio guidance as well! For more information on getting your business mapped by Lazarillo, visit lazarillo.app/business

With a host of customizable settings, Lazarillo allows you to build the perfect navigation assistant for your needs. Select a custom voice engine, choose your ideal units of measurement and direction, customize the layout of the exploration screen, and set your language of choice to get audible guidance on your terms.

Note: GPS location services are used even if the app is working in the background. This allows users to keep using the app to navigate without active usage of the screen, allowing you to enjoy the features of Lazarillo even when your phone is in your pocket or when you're using other relevant apps. Continued use of GPS running in the background can decrease battery life.

The Lazarillo app and all of its functionalities are free. All you need is a mobile data or Wi-Fi connection.
