Wonderful. Multiple counts, and the ability to add notes, mean that scribbled on and then lost patterns are a thing of the past. Haven't managed to customise the background yet, but that doesn't affect the great functionality. I probably should use the web version so that projects are synced across devices, but the app still works well for me.

I've had this app for years. I liked it well enough at first. It wasn't perfect, but I didn't use it terribly much and it was fine for my purposes. However, I'm done with it. In my experience, it has been awfully buggy and getting worse. I can't create new projects because the "save" button won't work half the time; if I'm editing a count or something about the project, I can't leave the app or look at another screen or the app will just crash and not save any of my edits. The app needs work.

This app has been my go-to knitting counter app for over a year and I've found it simple to use whilst having features that make it far more useful than a basic counter. Not only that, it's free and does not include adverts. It's a great app! EDIT: The dev promptly fixed an issue that affected the app on my phone when I left a comment as well.

So far has been the best free counter I've tried. Really appreciate the fact that it is not only free but ad-free. I love being able to easily add different rows and counts with a touch. The 4 star is for the inability to clear the counter and reset with a single touch considering the counter is designed to be an aid to knitting and crocheters and most patterns have numerous rows. You could get around by adding multiple rows but I see many also desire a quick way to reset.

I love this app so much. I am 99% happy with it. The only issue is that setting a custom background is not working for me but that is so minor. The functionality of this is amazing. I love that my screen stays on when I am using it!

An autosave feature would be great. Or an option to keep screen on at least. Lost so many notes already.

About this app

BeeCount is designed for counting multiple parts of multiple knitting projects. Originally, I wrote it as a training exercise for learning Android programming, but as it has proven useful to some people (thanks, Ravelry testers!) I released it here. It has since been extensively re-written to improve both the UI and the data handling.

BeeCount can store multiple knitting projects. Each project can have multiple 'counts' and these may be increased, decreased or reset to zero. Projects may be edited to add or remove counts after creation.

Counts can be linked together by editing a project after it has been created, and a count can have more than one link. For example, "rows" could increment two different pattern repeats at different rates. Counts may also have multiple alerts.

BeeCount on Android will always remain free and without advertisements.

Please e-mail me with any support questions, or contact me on Ravelry. There's now a Ravelry group for discussing the use of this app: http://www.ravelry.com/groups/beecount

Are you a developer? BeeCount is open source, and contributions to further development are always welcome.

Please don't use the reviews for support questions or bug reports - it's often difficult to get the information necessary to resolve the problem, and I don't always notice comments straight away. Email is a lot faster.
