This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Moana Māori on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.

Couldn't get all the macrons for te reo so downloaded this, now when its set I can't use any English alphabet. Thought this app would add on to my keyboard. Makes writing māori to english translations awkward. Unless there's something I'm not doing right.

Moana Māori is part of the Moana Series of the Polynesian Keyboard.
The keyboard has been specifically designed to meet the needs of users typing in Māori language or Te Reo Māori.

The characters used the most have been placed within easy reach of your fingertips while those used the least are located center-screen.

The keys are wide and thus very comfortable to type with.

The keyboard is also optimized for the Internet with a few web-friendly characters located right on the main set of characters.

Users just need to make a longer pressure on a vowel to macronize it.

- NO BROWSING IN LIST OF CHARACTERS
Users no longer need to browse through a list of diacritical marks to get macronized vowels.

- APOSTROPHES LOCATED ON THE MAIN SET OF CHARACTERS
Huri Translations has integrated two apostrophes - used for glottal stops in certain Māori dialects - into the main set of characters of the Polynesian Keyboard so it's just faster and easier to type your text!
