Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Data Witness PM on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

  1. Download and install LDPlayer from https://www.ldplayer.net.
  2. Drag the APK/XAPK file directly into LDPlayer.

A nice idea, but actual usage shown on PM self-serve website is very different, so not especially useful in practice.

Great idea for us Public Mobile users but as stated in a previous review, very inaccurate. Have used 213mb but app states 43.

Not working for me. I've pressed start monitoring, but the data used never increases.

Concept is great, however the app is grossly inaccurate. According to Public Mobile I have used about ~7GB so far out of 12GB in my 90 day term. According to Data Witness, I've used ~25GB so far in my 90 day term. Even after resetting the app and manually entering the data that Public Mobile says I've used this term, the Data Witness display is immediately inaccurate. Unfortunately I'll have to keep periodically checking with Public Mobile rather than rely on this app.

Works well, part of the reason I switched to PM. Small request, make tray icon permanent, I keep swiping it away by accident. Make it stay there permanently.

About this app

The built in data usage monitor in the OS is great, except for one thing, I'm on a pre-paid plan (30 or 90 days) and the built in monitor only does month to month (eg Jan 4 to Feb 3)

That's where Data Witness comes in. Just set your term starting day, any data you used before Data Witness was installed, the length of your plan in days and you're set!
