This is the best integrated pantry/shopping/list app I've found - and I've been searching for a while. Nothing complicated about it, just input your stocks or shopping list and off you go. I would give it five stars but there are a few things lacking. Firstly it would be great if we could create our own categories. The default category list is good but being able to create our own would lift the app to the next level. If manual creation of categories is not possible, how about adding the ability to tag items? Second, notes should be visible without needing to open the item itself. It's just a time-saving option to be able to see at a glance what notes you've made for an item. Third, a bar code scanner would be awesome. And finally, the ability to use pictures (from our camera as well as from a web search) would be uber awesome! For a free app it offers a good and simple UI, but I would be willing to pay for those extras! Keep up the good work guys!

(1) Data not stored locally: can't use without internet connection. Uninstalled. (2) Item name character limit is unreasonably low (i.e., it's too short). (3) *Really* need to allow users to create their own Categories and Units. (4) Need a Notes field for Item records.

Decent app that works on both android and iPhone. This allows my wife with iPhone and me with android to both update the database. The problems I have with it are: 1. should be able to sort on expiration date. 2. Needs the ability to add a custom unit. 3. It would be nice to be able to copy items 4. When there are multiple items there should be a + and - to add and subtract as you use the items instead of editing the item. Bugs: When I choose the unit "bag" it shows up as poşet in the list

UPDATE FROM PREVIOUS 3 STAR REVIEW My list is gone!!! I painstakingly cleared out my freezer and took inventory. After a couple of hours if work I had my comprehensive list. Over the course of 2 weeks I used from the freezer a few times and updated the app. Today I purchased items to add to the freezer. Upon opening the app, my list was gone!!! What use is an app that will not post items in the correct language and then, after a couple weeks, deletes my list?!? This app has been deleted

About this app

The simplest way to reduce food waste in your kitchen is "Smart Kitchen".

Did you know that 300 tons of food is wasted every 5 seconds? What if we say that 72% of this amount is wasted in homes and processing. 64 million tons of food is wasted in homes and in the processing stage, of which 47 million tons are caused by households.

The most obvious reason of food waste is simply because households buy too much or items that are too large for their requirements. This overshopping can be caused by:

○ No or too little pre-shop planning
○ Lack of knowledge what is in the storage/fridge
○ Shopping frequency
○ Expiry date

To avoid food waste; create a shopping list, keep track of what you've bought and used, cook as much as you need and store them under the right conditions.

With Smart Kitchen, you can list the products you have purchased, categorize them, and quickly create a shopping list. You can add the expiry date and recommended consumption date of the products you have purchased.

Features:

• Create lists for your fridge, pantry, freezer, shopping, grocery and more

• Add expiry date, category and amount to your items

• Copy and move items between lists

• Smart Reminder: Get notification before your items expired!
