I was able to install on Android by giving it location privileges then revoking them and it still functions. That's one complaint, the other is that the temperature graph resets when you leave the graph screen.

This app does not work for Android. I have tried on a Galaxy S 20 and S 21 and on both, the hciscan tool cannot be turned on and cannot link to the device. This is necessary to even use the thermometer because configuration can only be done via the app. The button on the thermometer itself only turn the thermometer and the backliggt on/off. Fortunately my wife has an Apple device, and the Apple app works well.

Have used this app on a iPhone for around 18 months and only issue was Bluetooth distance. That was manageable. I was was happy then. Just got new Samsung phone and it won't allow Bluetooth connection. Button will not activate in Hci Tool. Luckily I am able to use on my iPhone tablet. Please fix app to be compatible on new Samsung devices.

Just got Bluetooth device and 2 extra probes. Very well built but relies solely on App to function. APP will not run on Samsung 10 phone but works perfect on Fire Tablet. Needs Bluetooth and HCITool link resolved. I will continue to use on Tablet as it works great. Please fix phone link problem. Update: contact was made with Developer. With investigation it was found that LOCATION must be ALWAYS ON for HCITools to be Enabled and thhs establish Blietooth link. Product works perfectly now.

just got a bluetooth meat/bbq thermometer that relies on Grill5.0 for connection. seems a bit overcomplicated to link and why would a thermometer program need your GPS coordinates to function? it seems like there's a spyware / datamining aspect to it. that being said, I got the thermometer free as a review / evaluation piece. how bad can it be, for free?

Only works if you allow bt all the time. If you try to select the "this time only' or "only while using the app" options, it will not turn bluetooth on (even if bt is already on) and search for thermometers.
