Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing BeeKeeperLite on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.

This really should be called ApiaryLite because it is an app to map apiary/hive locations. Obviously not much effort put into this app, including its description. Add the ability to record colony, queen, bee info and specifics on supers and weather conditions and you might be onto something.

Really needs to be able to manage boxes and frames not just colonies/hives.

About this app

Welcome, BeeKeeperLite is an idea by the owner of the Artisan Honey Company, based in Lincoln, UK. The App has been made a reality by Andrew Jackson, Owner of Interneers a Web Hosting and App Dev Company, also based in the UK.

The Lite App gives the beekeeper the ability to store data about their sites, and hives and provides a checklist about each visit made to a hive. With the ability to add notes and photos for each site, hive, and visit, required tasks will never be overlooked.

With location data available the sites and hives can be viewed on a Map, provided by the software on your device (Google Play Services required).

New features

Updated support libraries and image capture libraries. Improved storage of data by using approved methods. The backup feature temporarily removed, will be re-instated in the next release. Added photo feature for each Site, Hive, or Visit. Added Location feature for Sites and Hives. Added information on Pests, Diseases, and Disorders.
