This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing I beam solver & calcultor on PC Windows and Mac.

About this app

This tool, for student and engeneer, solve a loaded structural beam
bounded by means a number of constraints non greater than two (total possible cases 10 ),
considering one or more loads (see heareafter).

Before to download the complete version of this tool I suggest to try the lite version free.


This app can consider 8 possible loads and the weight of the beam (uniform load)
, for a total number of loads on the beam in the same time
not grater than 11.

The loads available are:
1) Point load
2) Concentrated moment
3) Uniform load
4) Uniform increasing load
5) Uniform decreasing load
6) Distributed costant load
7) Distrbuted increasing load
8) Distibuted decreasing load

The weight of the beam and the other physical parameter, to solve the problem, are
calculated considered an available inside database, where there are the more common I
European profile type ( IPE, HP, HE, HD, HL).

All loads put can be modify (excluding the weight) / enable / disable and delete all.

This app solve the problem step by step, showing all in the solution activity page ,by means classic approch considering
Eulero Bernoulli equation , equilibrium static force equation, equilibrium moment equation
Macaulay method in discontinued cases and Stock Navier and Jourawski theorem to calculate the Von Mises equivalent
stress in the main points ( E), F), G) ) of the cross section.

This app define and calculate the following physical parameter on the beam:

A) Shear
B) Bending moment
C) Slope
D) Deflection
E) Von Mises equivalent stress on the top and Bottom of cross section
F) Von Mises equivalent stress on the intersection between flange and web
G) Von Mises equivalent stress on the center of web

the function A) B) C) D) in different terms :
1) numerical with defined fixed step (101, 501, 1001 values), that can copy and paste in the note
2) polynomial numerical in x
3) polynomial in terms of load and beam parameter

for the function E) F) G) only numerical with defined fixed step (101, 501, 1001 values)
for each fuctions are found the maximum value

All parameters put can be defined in different units reference :

1) N [Newton], m [meter]
2) kgf [kilogram force], m [meter]
3) lbf [pound force], ft [feet]
4) lbf [pound force], in [inch]


For each fuction it is possible to show the relevant graphic and the maximun values in module

The material considered is the common steel in any case it is possible to show
the maximum value considering alluminium alloy titanium or a material defined by the
user.
