Awful would be giving this app too much in the way of positivity. It is pretty much unusable, is a security threat to the device, poorly written, undocumented (in the sense that any instructions are indecipherable), just professionally poor. Argh!

The manual is of limited use because of the poor translation (from Chinese I assume). After several minutes of trial and error, I configured wifi successfully and all seems to work well. I have read that the SSID must consist of letters and numbers only and the 2.4GHz network SSID used must be different from the 5GHz network SSID (if any) configured on the same router. Alexa or Google integration would be nice but I expect it must coming sometime or this company won't survive in the marketplace.

Poor app but gets the job done. The app crashes randomly. The English in the app is poor and has a lot of mistakes. It is also alarming that the app needs permission for phone calls and to read the device's storage in order to function without informing the user why these are necessary. In a nutshell I would say that the app is really sloppy but I give it a 3 star rating because it gets the job done. You can open the thermostat and set it via your phone when connected to the internet.

This app has just updated and now won't work unless it has access to LOCATION , STORAGE and TELEPHONE . THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. None of this information is neccessary for the application to work and wasn't required in the previous version. I will not be using it anymore. Hysen have replied that they need this access to be able to read the apps files. This is not neccessary if the application is correctly written. I have other apps controlling switches and doorbell cameras that dont need this acces

I had to retry a few times before I could finally connect to WiFi. You need to have a 2.4G WiFi with a simple SSID. Here's how it succeed: 1. Turn off the sensor with the power button 2. Hold the clock icon and tap the power and release both 3. It's in config mode: tap the "change" button (2nd from left) until it shows "FAC" (~8 times) 4. With the up button change the value to 32 5. Press the power button 6. Hold the clock icon and click power for a moment 7. Now the WiFi signal should flash. If not Goto 1. 8. In the app tap "Search" in the bottom 9. The device now should show up above. Tap it. 10. Tap "Configure" and enter the WiFi password 11. If it doesn't work retry from step 1 Problems: - The app freezes every now and then and shows empty screen. Works again if I restart it. - The app is optimized for kanjis I guess, so the translated texts look odd, words touch each other - No help available and I have no idea for example what the "Senior" button is for (with the wrench icon) - Light blue icons on orange background are hard to spot Fortunately once the connection is set up it keeps connected, and even after a power loss the device keeps the settings.

Difficult to set up but we'll worth the effort. Follow the instructions carefully and get the wi fi symbol on the control unit flashing before logging on your phone or tablet.
