Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Spektrum DX6R RaceWare on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.

I was one of the first to buy my dx6r back when it was first available, instantly regretted the purchase. Some of the bugs from then are still present today primarily the YouTube crash bug. Im sure thats more of a software issue and the fact its still on lollipop. For the amount of money I spent on this radio I'm still pretty salty that every issue hasn't been dealt with by now. I would sell the radio and be done with spektrum but I can't in good faith sell it with these issues. Hello Futaba

The first problem I encountered was that several Spektrum transmitters I own are not listed as options to select when binding. Which is odd, because it's Spektrum's own app and only supports their products and there really aren't even that many of them, so how hard could it be? That was annoying, but easily gotten around by selecting the wrong transmitter. Fine. Now though, I'm getting "the YouTube error" which I didn't know about until the last couple days and is much worse. Fix this app!!!!!!

Love the fact that Horizon Hobby and Spektrum RC advertises in their website that the “DX6R NOW USES RACEWARE 2.03.12!!!!!” It’s only available if you are part of the PUBLIC BETA That is EXTREMELY misleading to say the least

No excuses. This app is buggy, crashes frequently and seems to receive very little attention. When it's only for the DX6R, there is no reason it performs so poorly. There are offbrand radios from China that work better. Get it together guys!

Works OK, doesn't start up properly sometimes. Battery life info incorrect, says 92% all the time, then all of a sudden 25%, alarming right before a race......

Still full of bugs. YouTube error still persists even on latest version. Not a good product best avoided.

The Spektrum RaceWare™ application unlocks the programmability of your Spektrum DX6R and allows you to setup new models, monitor real-time telemetry data and much more. The intuitive interface allows you to easily manage all of vehicle using dedicated programming menus while providing the opportunity to customize the interface with color changes and the upload of images for each of your vehicles.
