Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing palmDraft(lite) ElectronicsCAD on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

The components don't snap to the grid, and then you cannot draw the traces to them. The back button doesn't work. There is also not a very large selection of components. In the lite version you can only save small schematics which is OK. The labeling is less than intuitive. The delete is down right cumbersome. Hope you don't make any mistakes!

I drew out a complete schematic of a fuzz circuit with this app only to discover that I couldn't save my work. I only give two stars because the schematic looked so good, as if it had been done by a professional. Uninstalled.

It seems OK until you try to resize, move, delete an object, I found this nearly impossible. Very frustrating one mistake could mean deleting whole thing.

I'm looking for an app that I can draw out my schematic like that of an automotive type. This one advertised that you could do that but after trying the free version I find I can't even edit the things I've done let alone that there are not the right symbols for drawing my schematic. Back to the drawing board, literally. Old school pen and paper seem to be the way I'm going to have to go.

Simple electronic schematic drawing application for Android.

Originally designed for palm(tm) OS PDAs back in 2002, palmDraft is now available for the Android platform so you can easily design your own professional-looking electronic schematic diagrams on your Android tablet or phone.

This is a simple bitmap-based drawing application, featuring a high definition, flick-panning, pinch-zoom-able working canvas, optimized for finger and pen drawing. It's as easy to manipulate as a sheet of paper. The schematics file format is standard .PNG bitmap file format which can be easily exported and shared for printing.



HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS:


Designed for high-density screen devices, tablet or large screen device recommended for best experience.


* For older devices with low screen densities (which have lower heap size), if you get low-memory warnings, please disable dark-background in prefs screen and work with SMALL or MEDIUM sized schematics (minimum 32MB of Heap memory.)

* Schematics in SMALL:720x480, MEDIUM:1080x720 and LARGE:1920x1080 sizes
(Lite version saves only in 720x480)

* Free pinch-zooming and panning of the canvas on all editing modes.

If you experience problems with the application please make sure that the "Don't keep activities" setting in the "Settings-Developer options" of your phone settings is unchecked (disabled).
