About this app

TIMER LOCK is an application designed to prevent children from becoming smart phone addicts, and installed in children’s smart phones by parents. Once this TIMER LOCK application is installed, all other applications already installed are locked for a certain period of time. (Just in case of emergency, incoming and outgoing calls are not restricted.)
Setting and resetting the time can be changed by inputting an arbitrary password number. This application is also usable in any tablet. Make sure to remember that once the applications are locked, they cannot be unlocked even when the power is turned off.

【Example of Use】
Example 1: All other applications are locked from 22:00 at night (bed time) till 7:00 following morning.
Example 2: All other applications are locked from 9:00 in the morning (school time) till 17:00 in the evening.

【How to Use】
1. Install the TIMER LOCK application.
2. Set “Lock start” and “Unlock” times.
3. Set a password with 4 digits and a secret question. Make a record of them so as not to forget.
4. Press “Set” to start operation. The smart phone remains locked for a specified period of time every day.
5. The smart phone display is covered with a screen while it is being locked and operation is disabled. However, incoming and outgoing calls only are possible at this time.

【Background】
Recent children start using a smart phone in junior or senior high schools, which is earlier than before. As a result of chronic use all day and night, they tend to become smart phone addicts. This could also affect their physical conditions adversely and examples where a healthy life is not ensured have been reported increasingly. In order to improve such situations, the TIMER LOCK application aims to be used by parents to impose restrictions on children’s smart phones in advance to become enabled only for a preset time for sound use.

【Notes】
As for compatible models, not all models have been confirmed versatile terminal models are available in the market. Uninstalling the TIMER LOCK application forcibly could disable the expected functions. Please note that this application is compatible with Android.
We receive more and more inquiries about actions in case the password number or secret question slips out of memory. Please understand that inquiries from children cannot be answered because this application aims to place children’s smart phones under the control of their parents. Use the application only after thoroughly reading the terms of service displayed on the screen after the software is downloaded and confirming the consent.

【Information】
TIMER LOCK 2 (paid-for edition) is optionally available, which allows setting of three types of times, setting of days of the week and setting of a 6-digit password number.

App Permissions

Allows an application to receive the ACTION_BOOT_COMPLETED that is broadcast after the system finishes booting.
