This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Smart Bin ArPi on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.

About this app

This project is to design an IoT (Internet of Things) that enhance trash collection and monitoring. Waste management has become one of the crucial universal problems at present and one of the key factors for Malaysia Smart City Initiatives along with the rapid growth in world population especially in urban areas as projected by United Nations. By utilizing IR 4.0 (Industrial Revolution 4.0) technologies, this project will able to gather fill-level data from waste containers and create compaction when the fill-level reach certain thresholds hence providing a waste monitoring and collection solution that brings up savings in waste collection costs. This project are developed using prototype methodology. We propose two module smart bin in this thesis. The first module, monitoring module consists of fill level detection and smart bin internal environment detection which uses ultrasonic sensors and temperature ,humidity and smoke sensors respectively which are connected to cloud platform, ThingSpeak. An android application will be develop to receive data from ThingSpeak as mobile monitoring method. The fill level reading will also be displayed on LCD display with LEDs. The second module, collection module consists of sensors and actuators to receive waste into the smart bin, compaction method, musical module for attracting user to use the smart bin and inner bin collection method connected to Arduino Uno.
