The activation area needs to be thicker. It's hard to pull down on your first attempt. Often pull down the notification panel instead. Also once you manage to pull it, you have to swipe it down and not hold it down. If you hold it down it just whips back up and makes it hard to change the other volume panels. The idea is great but it just needs some refinement. It will definitely be worth it after a few updates if the dev tackles these issues.

Just wish there was some sort of animation when changing volumes. A slide would be nice, just something other than the way it "chunks" up to the next volume level. Although this is how stock android works as well, so I can't complain too much.

About this app

StatusbarVolume shows the volume control panel as an unobtrusive overlay over the system statusbar, instead of blocking your view of whatever you are currently doing on your device.

This is an Xposed-module! You will need a rooted device with Xposed installed: http://bit.ly/1hCaq32

After activating the module in the Xposed app, please reboot your phone. Afterwards, you'll be able to press the volume up/down keys on your device to display the statusbar volume-slider.

In order to slide down the expanded volume panel, please start the swipe-gesture slightly *below* the volume bar (where the ActionBar normally sits). Alternatively, you can also single-tap this area, and the volume-panel should slide out automatically.

The module is free without ads. After 14 days, you'll need to pay $0.99 if you want to continue using it.

New features

v1.3:
- Fixed a bug when changing the volume while casting via Chromecast
v1.2:
- Ability to customize the slider color (new default: white)
- Ability to "unlink" ringer & notification volumes
