Only app I could find that uses GPS to measure between two points. Something so simple you would think there would be many. I used this app for measuring the property's corners. Accuracy does vary alot and there is NO button to save the measurements, as they said you could. Waiting on a response to my email to let me know how to save. I will give update if they ever respond but not holding my breath.

Doesn't work. It just sits there "Waiting for GPS lock." Wouldn't Google maps and nav be broken too if my GPS didn't work?

I use it for long range shooting to verify distances, even has slope information and heading. I also use it on the golf course to determine my Driver distance. Pretty cool. Thx

About this app

Disclaimer: This application is only as accurate as your phone's GPS. It will not accurately measure short (< 20 y) distances, due to the accuracy of GPS.

How far did I hit that golf ball?
How far out did I set my target?
How steep was the mountain I just hiked?

It's often useful to know the exact distance between two points, but it isn't always practical (or cheap!) to bring a specialized tool such as a rangefinder. This simple, polished tool allows you take measurements using your phone's built-in GPS from a start location to an end location. Unlike a tool such as a rangefinder or tape measure, this application calculates distances based on GPS locks. It can measure across a backyard or across a nation and retain complete accuracy. It's as simple as tapping a button at the start location and then again at the end location.

Measurements
• XY Distance: The distance between the start and end locations on a 2D plane. This does not take altitude into account, similar to how map applications function. Useful for golfers.
• LOS (Line of Sight) Distance: The distance between the start and end locations in 3D space. This takes altitude into account, similar to how a range finder functions. Useful for shooting.
• Bearing: The bearing from the start location to the end location, in degrees out of 360º. Similar to a compass, 0º is north, 90º is east, 180º is south, and 270º is west. Useful for long-range shooting.
• Δ Height: The change in height from the start location to the end location. Useful for hikers.
• Angle: The angle from the start location to the end location, in degrees from -90º to 90º. Useful for hikers.

Measurement Log
Sometimes it's nice to keep a record of these measurements, whether to help fine-tune your rifle or to keep a record of your tallest climb. Every measurement can optionally be saved into a clean and informative log in order to keep track of what you've measured.

Material Design
Google's Material Design language has been revolutionary for the Android ecosystem, finally bringing an intuitive and clean look to phones everywhere. GPS Ruler carefully follows Material Design guidelines so that the app looks just as beautiful as the rest of your phone.

Convenience
Smartphones are the modern toolbox; it's something most people take absolutely everywhere. This app sits in your pocket for wherever and whenever you need it. There's no need to take a bulky range finder or tape measure; this application is ready any time you need to take a measurement.

We're strong believers in the idea that you get what you pay for. If you have questions, feedback, or suggestions, please send us an email at mkubiak.dev@gmail.com; it's the fastest way to offer feedback and suggest features for GPS Ruler
