About this app

As part of strategic initiatives to create a wider market for our poverty eradication beneficiaries and increase their visibility, Poverty Eradication Unit has come up with a national directory which serves as is a platform for start-up business to achieve visibility which every business requires. It also gives potential customers an all-round summary of available business packages under poverty eradication program.

It offers a comprehensive contact information including cell phone numbers for over 10 000 beneficiaries by project and by districts. The directory will also assist in identifying service providers within a certain locality. The development of national directory will further strengthen interaction with beneficiaries across the districts for benchmarking purposes and intensify stakeholder partnership.

Currently 38,068 have been funded under the Poverty Eradication Program, of which 29,531, are operational and employing 32,500 Batswana. Government introduced the Poverty Eradication Program to economically empower and capacitate current and prospective beneficiaries to live a leading life. Office of the President provides the overall coordination of the program while other ministries were assigned to play leading role in the implementation of the various aspects of the program. There are forty-five business packages which beneficiaries can choose from, and other key projects such as small scale machinery, fisheries and cluster gardens.
