Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing SMB plugin for Ghost Commander (new) on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

This one doesn't want to install on my system at all. And I'm curious what's the difference that makes it so much bigger compared to the "old" one plugin? Yeah, I have read that the old one supports only SMBv1, but this one is about 6 times bigger than the old one, and in fact it's twice bigger than the Ghost Commander itself. Why?

SMBv2. Good Plugin for GhostCommander. Faster Than TotalCommander. Please create small-icon (128x128, 200x200, etc px) cache-file (in smb-storage folder) by scanning each image/video file's content, & access it 1st to show small content of images/videos as file's icon, so we/users can know which file has what image/video. Create a button in menu to create such file, & show. The "View" cannot zoom sufficiently & not-clear ! When zoomed-in, then left/right tap on screen does not load next image!

In plugin for dropbox I can see small picture thumbians. In plugin for SMB it's not available unfortunately.

About this app

This is a new version of the plugin with a new package name and it uses a next generation of the SMB library which works much faster and supports the latest versions of the SMB protocol (higher versions are still experimental, use caution).

Please note: Make sure you've installed the Ghost Commander application version 1.57.1 before attempting to download and install this plugin. Also, please uninstall the old "samba" plugin as well.

To use this plugin, launch Ghost Commander and navigate to 'Menu > Location > Home > Windows share'.
Enter your server name and credentials (if any), then tap the 'Connect' button.

Once connected, you should be able to see a list of Windows shares on the network.

To change the connection options, tap and hold the plugin item in the home: panel.
