Initial experience was excellent - was able to customize charging times based on carbon intensity or price, and schedule departure so car was ready when I left for work. However after a recent update, the scheduled departure feature no longer works correctly, and turns on climate control every day (regardless of what is selected in the app). What an incredible waste of energy! The only solution was to turn off the scheduled departure feature entirely. Very frustrating!

Cool when it works, frustrating when it doesn't. App stopped reporting when the car charged and cost of the charge, and stopped setting the car to charge off-peak. Those are the two main reasons I installed it, so now it's useless. I tried deleting the Tesla and adding it again but it didn't work. The app is a black box that doesn't tell you what's happening when things aren't working. It took way too long to update my electricity rates (SCE rates are wrong for everyone).

I tried it for a few days a while back and decided it doesn't do anything I needed that the built-in scheduler doesn't do. So I disabled and forgot about it. After trading in I couldn't control the charge schedule of my new car. I finally realized Optiwatt knew about the new car, turned itself back on, and commandeered my charge schedule. Closed account and changing Tesla password. Malware.

Downloaded this to see if it would give me a more accurate depiction on the cost of my charging habits and how much I'm saving compared to an ICE vehicle. Unfortunately, it was only accurate for my first 2 charges. According to an email I exchanged with them prior to this, they can see my charging numbers are accurate on their side, but for some reason don't pull over to my (user) end. May try again in the future if that can be fixed.

Great when the data displayed is accurate. Even though the app is aware of my power company and assigned rate plan, and I can download the rate plan through the app and see that they have the rates correctly listed, it still maintains an inaccurate cost when calculating the data. I've emailed their support but very rarely do I get a response. Other features like actual cost per mile would be great if they calculated that. They have all the numbers They just need to calculate it.

It can work sometimes, but you never know whem it doesn't work. Without this app, I can at least set up a start charging time or an end charging time in the Tesla app. I just cannot set both (I don't know why Tesla doesn't allow you set both start AND end charging time). So I installed optiwatt because it is supposed to do this for me. However, although it works sometimes, when it doesn't work, it will start the charging any time I insert the plug, even if it is at peak time.
