Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing BCGov Directory on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

FreshWorks Studio is proud to launch the BCGov Directory Android app which contains a listing of BC Government organizations, offices, and the people working within those organizations/offices. The data extracts are taken from the Government Telephone Directory System (GTDS) provided by DataBC.


The app has following features:

- BC Government Contact listing

- BC Government Contact Searching

- BC Government Department listing and filtering

- Favouriting a contact

- View BC Government offices on a Map and get instant driving directions


The extracts contain the same data as is publicly available on http://dir.gov.bc.ca. There are two extracts available; one in XML format containing the full hierarchy of the directory, and one in CSV format providing a non-hierarchical, person-centric view of the directory.

This app is designed and developed by FreshWorks Studio. FreshWorks Studio is not related to the Province of British Columbia and uses the data that is publicly available on https://dir.gov.bc.ca. The data is published by the Ministry of Citizens Services - Access and Directory Management Services (ADMS) and licensed under Open Government License - British Columbia.
